This is because any ceramic glaze can lose some of its lustre over time due to the salts in dishwasher tablets. Each piece is hand thrown by Phil Ankers in his home studio in Leeds.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe glaze is an iron based glaze, whose gold coloured crystals form during the cooling stages of firing in the kiln. The glaze was developed by The Glaze Club at Sunken Studio in Leeds, of which Phil is a member.
